Thanks to an exciting advance in dental science, whitening your teeth to their brightest is faster, easier, and more convenient than ever before. This patient-friendly system uses a safe, non-abrasive whitening gel activated by a special light technology to produce amazing whitening results in an hour.
At your appointment with Dr. Bach, we will polish your teeth and place a protective coating on your gums. We use a 35% hydrogen peroxide photosensitive gel and a halogen light with a specific wavelength to whiten your teeth. Afterward, you will receive a list of foods to avoid for the first 48 hours because the bleaching process continues for about that length of time.
What can I expect with my SmileBright treatment?
- Much whiter teeth! You will see from 2 - 3 shades of basic color improvement and anywhere from 5 - 10 shades on the brightness scale, depending upon the present color of your teeth.
- Improvement that lasts several months. Most people find that the color reached by whitening will remain for at least 9 - 12 months. At that time you may start to notice a slight decrease in brightness.
- Safety. Studies have shown no long lasting effects on tooth enamel. There is often tooth sensitivity to heat and cold for a few days, but all patients have found that this goes away in 24 - 36 hours. Since we do not use a laser light, tooth sensitivity is minimized.
