Cosmetic
Contouring
Provides immediate reshaping of the tooth, and can make crowded
teeth, or overly large front teeth the right size. It's usually
painless, requiring no anesthetic, and offers an immediate correction
of the problem. There are times when contouring cannot be done
because it will adversely affect the bite.
Implants
When a tooth is missing, an implant can sometimes be used instead
of a bridge. A metal post is imbedded into the bone and serves
as an anchor for a crown or bridge. Long-term results depend on
various factors, including the amount of bone that's available
for the anchor.
Gum
Recontouring
In addition to changing the shape of the teeth,
there are times when altering the gumline can
dramatically improve the smileline, and even
enhance the overall facial appearance.
Recommendations for gum recontouring
are made by Dr. Bach in consultation
with the on-staff periodontist.
